Pr Dominique Parent

She founded and is head of the Mucosal Pathology Clinic at the Erasmus Hospital, where she has developed anogenital dermatological and infectious (STD) pathology in women (dermatology – gynaecology), in men (dermatology – urology) and dermatological pathology of the anogenital region in children.
Dr Dominique Parent specialises in anogenital pathology:
- vulvo-vaginal mycoses (fungal infections, Candida)
- pain, itching and rash in the perineal area (vulva and external male genital organs) as well as inflammatory conditions (lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, psoriasis, eczema, etc) and other lesions of this area in adults and children
- pain during sexual intercourse in women
- sexually transmissible diseases: condyloma or anogenital warts (papillomavirus infections), genital herpes, syphilis, etc.
After 36 years working at the Erasmus Hospital, Pr Dominique Parent now offers specialist anogenital consultations at the Brussels Skin Center in Uccle and at the Ambroise Paré University Hospital in Mons. She continues to offer oral mucosa specialist consultations only at the Erasmus Hospital Stomatology Department.
Bilingual in French and English, over the course of her career, Pr Dominique Parent has written articles and book chapters in both languages and has given numerous presentations at international conferences.
